Living Sport were thrilled at the turnout for their latest inclusive event held at Wimblington over the half term.

Despite the inclement weather, around 30 children with a whole variety of additional needs and their families enjoyed inflatable fun as well as crazy golf, football with Cambs/ Hunts FA inclusion lead Ryan as well as making good use of the sports and play equipment provided by Living Sport in the marquee when the rain came down!

Following a successful event in Huntingdon in October, Living Sport responded to feedback from parents via Pinpoint (the Cambridgeshire organisation helping parents of children with additional needs and disabilities) to provide something in Fenland.

The aim of the morning was to provide a relaxed opportunity for families to get active together whatever the needs of their children but also to have the chance to take a break, enjoy a drink and chat to others. We also took the opportunity to chat about what activities are needed locally or might already be happening to help us make connections and develop more inclusive options so that everyone can get active in a way that suits them.

One family said it was ‘the highlight of our half term’!
